The Brewery of Saint Mars of the Desert is a small family brewery in the Attercliffe neighbourhood of Sheffield. It's owned and run by Dann Paquette and Martha Holley-Paquette, along with Grimbold the dog and a host of friends and employees. All the beer is vegan and unpasteurised.
Sheffield's Saint Mars of the Desert, SMOD to regulars, brews adventurous beers for interesting people, built from nothing fancier than barley, hops, yeast and water, but chasing character over convention. Every batch is different, and names that have come through include Bim Bam, Hopfenfest, Laska Pils, Owd Eerie and Lovely Saint Winefride. They also run proper one-off events, from Smodfest to Smokyfest, so it's worth checking in to see what's brewing.
